Jesus uses the word hypocrite in Matthew 23 seven times to describe the spiritual leaders of His day. Hypocrite is a word used in the old theater world for actors; back then one actor might play many different parts in one play. Is that idea much different than how many of us live our lives? We put on masks, and we pretend. This four-part series, The Pretenders, will help us identify what those masks are in our lives and help us become transparent with one another.
