The power of the Gospel is this: Jesus has broken every chain. Everything that could hold us back or hold us down has been defeated through the cross. We are invited to live out this resurrected life with Jesus- a life where we are no longer captive to sin but walking in freedom. A life where we can live in the wide-open spaces of God’s grace and glory. But walking in freedom starts with laying everything before him that seeks to keep us captive- our past, our disappointments, our sin, our temptations, and even our own attempts to save ourselves. He invites us to lay it all down in surrender, to empty ourselves and experience that it is the name of Jesus alone that gives us power.
